Solar strips allow filtered sunlight to enter the building.

Samenvatting

Solar windows made of power generating insulating glass elements based on photovoltaic strips inside the triple glazing.

Details

Energy producing glazing is a solution for making homes and other buildings energy efficient. The strips generate energy, filter direct sunlight (reduce heat stress) and the triple glazing is the highest quality insulation. In addition it is an integrated part of the architecture and building façade.

Waste during production was minimised by using the maximum production width of the glass (1180mm) as the grid size for the GTB Lab Module. In the subsequent transformation phase, no new material was used at all, but the glass was reused in its entirety.
