Reversible steel frame

Steel Core
0.6

November 2021, finished.

Samenvatting

The steel structure acts as the main vertical load-bearing part of the GTB Lab. The over-dimensioning means that future transformations will not be a problem.

Details

The design of the load-bearing part of the GTB Lab 'core' is oversized to allow future adaptations to be connected to the steel frame. It is built entirely with nuts and bolts to be reversible.

The steel structure is strategically located in the centre of the building. This allows changes to be made to the sides and supports the ability to bring daylight and fresh air into the centre of the building.
